Blessious Phiri
SLS Technical Data Officer/ Database Developer, University of Edinburgh
As a programmer and developer, Blessious’ role focuses on developing and maintaining the infrastructure and datasets held within the LSCS. In addition, Blessious provides data support to SLS researchers.
Prior to Joining the Longitudinal Studies Centre Scotland (LSCS), Blessious was employed as an Oracle and SQL Database Administrator in Malawi for 15 years.
Blessious holds a NCC Diploma in Computer Studies and a Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems from Malawi College of Accountancy, as well as a pending MSc in Management Information Systems from Malawi School of Government.
Blessious’ MSc research focuses on the impact of IT and business strategy alignment on microfinance performance. His undergraduate degree research involved a case study of a health management system in Kamuzu Central Hospital, Malawi.
